UK Tier 1 (Start Up Visa)

Types of Tier – 1 Visa

  1. Graduate Entrepreneur: This has a cap on the places and is for the graduates who have graduated from the universities of the United Kingdom. However, these entrepreneurs graduate individuals must be recommended by the university in the UK or the UK Govt. Trade & Investment Department.
  2. Entrepreneur Visa: This visa category is for investors and business people who would like to start a Business in the United Kingdom. They may also invest or take over a business and invest the amount of £50,000.

The Dependent Family Members may apply for another type of visa if they would like to accompany the Tier 1 Visa holders. While the spouse has to be at least 18 years, the dependent kids must be below 18 years. There are various categories of family visas to the United Kingdom.

UK Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa

There are several people from all over the world who would like to work in the United Kingdom. This is a European country where many people from all over the world would like to work. However, in order to work there is a Tier – 2 Visa category that they must be eligible for and apply as well as get approved for it. This is for the people who are not from the EEA. Once you meet all the eligibility criteria you successfully stay in the UK for 5 years, then you are on your route to Permanent Residency in the United Kingdom!

Tier – II Skilled Worker Visa: This category of visa is that the employer who is in the United Kingdom hires the employee directly to live and work in the United Kingdom. Candidates have to first clear the points-based selection test in order to qualify for this visa category. An employer in the UK has to sponsor the candidate. Firstly, it is generally for a time duration of 3 years. The candidate may want to get approved for an extended stay in the UK. So, the total time there would be 5 years in all under this visa category. There are various other strict requirements for the employee and the employer to apply for this visa category. The minimum score on the points-based selection test the candidate must score on the basis of employer sponsorship, salary, maintenance funds, and language skills is 50 points.

Tier – II ICT – This visa category is specifically for the employees who get transferred to work in an office in the United Kingdom through the same company. For this, there are strict conditions that the employee and employer have to meet before the process. There is a points-based selection test even for this visa and the requirements/ eligibility criteria are similar to the UK Tier 2 General Visa Category. This visa is further subcategorized into two – short-term ICT visas and long-term ICT visas. The ‘ICT’ means Intra Company Transfer. There are strict criteria on the salary the person makes. The minimum point score that a candidate must score is 60. For employer sponsorship point requirement is 30, for salary requirement – is 20, & maintenance funds – 10 which makes up the score.

There is a difference in many factors between the Tier – II ICT Short Term & Tier – II ICT Long Term Visas. However, it is a route to the ‘indefinite leave to remain. Even the Dependent Family members or spouse may go by another visa category to live with the primary visa holder.

UK Dependent Visa

There are various categories for the UK Dependent Visa. So, generally, spouses and children who are not majors come under this category. A spouse must be married to a citizen of the United Kingdom and must attain the age of 18 years. The dependent children must be below the age of 18 and only then they are eligible. Such dependent visa holder (only spouse) is eligible to study or work in the United Kingdom. Also, after a period of 5 years of staying there, they can apply for the ILR status. This is because at first, they are given the time of two and a half years of permitted stay there. Then they may apply for an extension for another two and a half years of time.

To get eligible for ILR status the spouse much also meet some basic criteria including age and finances. They must be able to speak or meet the English language requirements as well as other requirements too. In this case, the spouse must be a major and earn an annual income of at least £18,600 as they would not have access to public funds. The UK Dependent Visa lets the visa holder stay in the United Kingdom for as long as the main applicant’s visa duration is valid.

Types of UK Dependent Visa

Thee are other types of Dependent visas that include UK dependent Student Visa & UK Tier 2 Dependent Visa. Under both of these dependent visa categories, the applicant visa holder can only remain for the period of time that the main applicant’s visa is approved for. There are Basic Requirements like English language skills and financial sufficient funds too. There are two eligible sponsors which may be the partner or even the partner’s employer too.
